~about the Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal~

Allright, university takes up all my time lately, so I need to report to you on two events before this year's Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig starts on Friday, I hope I can do that.

The week after Easter the Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal took place at the Openair Museum Kommern. It’s a historical funfair with attractions from the Wilhelminian era/Victorian Age until the 70ies.

ALL the sweets
The organization of the funfair had opened an application for people dressed in historical clothing from the Victorian/Wilhelminian era to get free entry so me and parts of the family de Loryva decided to take the chance and dress up.

Maybe you remember the video I posted about our first Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal, two years ago. If not: you can find it here:
Outtake^^
Since we missed the one last year, I went twice this year xD: The first time on Easter Monday together with mum. It was freezing cold then and I was so glad I took Rüdiger (my fox fur) with me.
Easter Monday
The second time was together with the lolita clique the Sunday after Easter. Luching celebrated her birthday on Saturday so we slept over and went altogether the next day. Fortunately it was the first day this year with really good weather and warmer temperatures.
From right to left: Kitty, Baku, Luching, Harcole and me
Since I had just finished two Victorian bustles (some might have seen the brown one on my tumblr and/or dA) so I borrowed her the blue one.
Fortunately we all got the free entry and not only that: we also got food and drinks for one Euro less! I really like that event and I have to thank Dr. Faber once again for this opportunity!
I believe we were quite an impressive group and the other visitors took quite some pictures of us. Plus the museum is a perfect background.
Bob going "Manta Manta"
Now onto the funfair itself: As I already told you they had attractions dating back to the Victorian Era as well as a program filled with acrobats, magicians and even a beheading!
Here are some impressions:

You can see their show here:
M. Gilbert and his flea Madame Fifine, who just jumped in the water ;)

I think my favourite was “Doktor Marrax und Pavel Söhne”, because they had that odd Victorian feeling to their show. Doktor Marrax is a magician who works with a special “magic powder” called Marrax-o-fax.
He and his assistant Pavel Söhne advertise their wonder powder with different tricks to convince the public of “buying” it. I had to think of Sweeney Todd and Mr. Pirellis Miracle Elixir. I think that would fit a Steampunk Convention perfectly!

The only thing I kind of missed was the walking act of a guy trying to sell “pictures” to the guests and was caught because of indecent behaviour by the Gendarmes and hanged shortly afterward. Not only because I really liked that idea of bringing life to the market, no this year we brought our own “pictures” to swap with him :D just to see his surprised face. Too bad he wasn’t there.

But nonetheless it was an awesome event, we had a lot of fun and I really look forward to next year’s edition.
If you want to see more pictures including more fun pictures and outtakes: visit my flickr album from here.

That was the first event I wanted to give a report on. The next one will be on the Aethercircus, the first German Steampunk Convention in Stade the weekend before last week. The Steampunk Expedition Camp set up tents there and I spend the last few weeks preparing stuff for it (like building a sun sail with my dad^^) beside visiting the Hexentanz festival the weekend before the Aethercircus*cough*

It’s the first “real” time we did the Expedition Camp after the test at Luxemburg SteampunkConvention Anno 1900. So stay tuned!

To get into the right Expedition mode: a short film Thomas, Vala and I made at Elf Fantasy Fair 2012 in Arcen ;)

~about the Elysium Nights~

As I already announced here, the first edition of the Elysium Nights took place last weekend. I went there together with some friends and I have to say: I really enjoyed the evening. It already started the day before the actual event, when I printed my ticket: I was number 1! The first sold ticket! I don’t know why but this kind of made me very happy^^
When we arrived there around 21.00 I think it was, we first had some problems finding the right entrance because the ball was situated in the basement of a normal restaurant and you had kind of scurry trough the normal entrance where the “normal” guest sat in the main room and then downstairs to the room that was booked for the event. (Maybe a sign at the door would have been helpful, because you know: if you are really dressed up you don’t want to enter a normal restaurant filled with people for no reason, it’s kind of awkward^^).

Down the stairs we handed in our print-out tickets and got the real ones. The first 50 bought tickets got a little present. Here’s mine:

I think it’s absolute adorable! Marina and Natalia really put a lot of work into this!
(Since the presents were packed in glittery bags my camera still has some glitter on it which reminds me of the great evening^^)

In the front area Natalia had set up her photo space and also the vending displays were there (from Merry Me as well as DeadDoll's Needful Things)
Right when we arrived a lot of people we know were already there so we needed quite some time to get in the back area where the cloak room was because of all the “hellos”.
Merry Me Display
The location itself was decorated with ivy leaves and lights to evoke the look of a grotto, which the arches supported, too. Since it was the basement the ceiling was a bit low and with all the people in there you better not have claustrophobia (but you could still get into the front area where it was not that crowded^^).
In the beginning of the evening you could have your picture taken from Natalia, which we all did, here are the results:
Nearly the whole group/family de Loryva trying to fit one photo^^
Together with Yuki-Yume
Myself: as you see I went for Steampunk Lolita... again^^
I really like how they did come out! I have to admit, that I, personally, like them more then the pictures of Gala Nocturna, Viona takes. (Although they are great as well^^)
(You can find photos of the other guest here on Natalia's website and here on facebook.)
Guest waiting for the magician to arrive
They also had prepared a program including the magician Andreas Steverding, a burlesque feather fan dance by Gia LaFae and a fashion show by Oh!Marisha
Miss Gia LaFae during the Feather Dance
Honestly I only really saw the dance (which was great!) because (due to some problems with the technology) they did not really announce the different proram points and so I just missed them because I was in the front part, getting something to drink (with the ticket you got two free drink vouchers, which was great especially for me, because I often don’t drink enough if I have to pay every single drink *stingy-me*). Also it would have been better to have a proper stage but the location itself just didn’t gave the opportunity to set up one, but for the next issue that really something to keep in mind if changing the location.

Alexandr with his amazing self-made mask
During the whole evening the two DJs DJ XLII and DJ Tom Noir made a good mix of spherical and danceable music. It might not have been everyone’s favorite but it really fitted the occasion.
Nyanko looking gorgeous as always
Now onto the visitors: everybody looked splendid! A lot of afford was put into the styling and so the outcome was overall awesome! A lot of hoop skirts and corsets, piled up hair and creative make-ups all over the place. It was a joy just to watch the other visitors and I am really amazed in which dresses some of the ladies were still able to dance in!

Overall I really, really liked the event! It was the first time it happened and there are still little things that can be changed (like more places to have a seat, better lightning for the displayed pictures of Natalia, which were great, but really hard to see, things like that) but I am absolutely impressed what the two girls made happen and I’m really looking forward to the next edition that hopefully will come!
Fred made a lot of amazing pictures you can find here
so if you want to see some more impressions of the evening

~about some preparations~

(Please scroll down for the english version)

It’s been a bit quiet here… Well, I’ve been to a lot of events lately and I will blog at least my outfit from them. But at the moment I’m fully concerned with my preparations for this year’s Elf FantasyFair, Arcen Edition.
It will be the first time I will be there both days and I’m really excited! (I’m there for the Clockworker ;) ) I’ve been working very intensively on my outfits the last weeks. This year’s theme is Mummies and Pharaohs and so my boyfriend, another friend and me decided to go there as Steampunk Archeologists.
This is what I will be wearing. I’ll some more details ;)
The skirt and jacket is hand-made, blouse is kidsyoyo.

Well then for Sunday, a few folks from de Loryva will realize our idea of a Steampunk Circus.
I will be some kind of Steampunk Gypsy Hula Hoop Artist.

I made that skirt and changed a lot about the other clothes but I’m not quite sure about the outfit though. It lacks a bit of the Steampunk vibe I guess. Do you have any suggestions?

Well then, It’s only one day left! Maybe I’ll see some of you in Arcen? On Saturday there will also be a Steampunk Meet-up at the Steampunk area (Point 12 in the official card) at 15.00 o’clock. Feel free to join!

(btw: Lately I’m quite active at tumblr rufflesandsteam.tumblr.com, so feel free to follow me there, too ;)  I also have a tumblr about dolly and mori style: Lace and Layers)

~about the EFF and a competition~

~about my outfit for the Gala Nocturna 2012~

Hier also die Fotos:
Unsere Gruppe minus Athoriel

Eure AyraLeona

PS: Danke für 100 Leser!

_________________________________________________________________
As I announced here the Gala Nocturna 2012 took place at the 11th of February. Although it's only a week ago Viona already released the small versions of the guest's portraits on facebook, so I can show you my outfit and my group (part of the Loryva Family).
Unfortunately I didn't took that much pictures and due to my camera which is not the best, the few that I took are mostly blurry >_<'

The theme was „A Russian Fairytale“, so I tried to go for a folkloristic Dolly Kei look. I did not use fur trims as I wanted to do in my first plannings but I think they wouldn't have fitted the outfit anyway. But I sticked to the idea of Snegurotschka (~snowflake) and dressed up all in white.
And know on to the photos:
Our group
Luching and Harcole

Gruftkitty and Karumi

Nana and myself
I also made a picture of (nearly) all the clothing I wore^^

1 knitted shawl made by my mum, 2 bloomers by Bodyline, 3 + 5 vintage skirts, 4 self-made skirt, 6 self-made brooch, 7 folkloristic-like blouse by H&M, 8 Rocking Horse shoes by Montreal, 9 lace tights by Primark, 10 gloves present by Harcole, 11 Kokoshnik self modified by me (originally they where a choker by Primark^^) 12 bracelets bought at Camden markets, 13 shoe clips self-made by me, 14 belt self-made by me, 15 ankle socks by Primark

I hope you like it! As soon as the bigger sized images are released I'll show them to you, too! Meanwhile you can visit the Clockworker and read my article about the Gala Nocturna there. It's german only but you can see the pictures and/or use google translate ;)

Yours
AyraLeona
