~about WGT outfits 2014~

As promised in my last entry here come my outfits from Wave Gotik Treffen.

Friday started with the Victorian Picnic at the Clara Zetkin Park.
We went as a group of servants (not only maids, we also had a butler but he was already gone when we took this picture)
Since it was the day-off of the servants, sun glasses fit as well:
Outfit:
skirt + apron + headdress: Bodyline
underskirt + blouse: thirfted
sun glasses: Vintage

In the evening I changed into more comfortable clothes, Casual Steampunk Lolita:
Outfit:
shoes: Deichmann
socks: off-brand
dress: Orsay, dyed by me
belt: Primark (I believe)
blouse: a gift from Kitty
hat + choker: self-made
bag: restyle.pl
On Saturday the Steampunk Picnic took place, so I wore Steampunk Lolita

Outfit:
dress+ shoes: Bodyline
socks: ?
vest: Takko, modified by me
chocker and googles: made by me
nerf: modified by me
hat: thrifted
On I decided to go for Classic Lolita, including tights and a long blouse (although it was chiffon) as I knew we would mostly spend the day inside of rooms with air-con.
Also on my deviantArt
This time we also took some detail photos.
Outfit:
shoes: Deichmann
tights: Primark
dress: taobao (Cinderella Story I believe)
chiffon blouse: Primark
hat: self-made
bag: taobao (Loris)
gloves: Vintage (ebay)
leather bow: Poorman's Gold Label
choker: handmade by me
brooch: hand-made (Rarebear Grumman)

In the evening the girls and me decided to go as "The Bloomer Gang" to see Tarja Turnunen
That's the good thing being a lolita: Most of the time you have a decent amout of short pants with you ^_^

On Monday I woke up quite eraly so I decided to do a fancier make-up which I normally wouldn't have dine, because the outfit I planned for it was too much fabric for the temperatures but I improvised another outfit around the make-up and I quite like how it turned out ^_^
Steampunk Mechanical Doll

Outfit:
shoes: antaina
socks: Primark, dyed by me
dress: Orsay, dyed by me
bag: restyle.pl
leather bow: poorman's gold label
choker: selfmade
goggles: modified by me
kraken on top of my head: crocheted by me

So those were my outfits for WGT 2014. A lot of Lolita or Lolita inspired stuff as well as Steampunk. I guess one can see my preferred styles ^^

I hope you like it! Have a nice weekend! Seems like the summer finally arrived.

~about a lolita dream coming true~

I think it's kind of every lolita's dream to get into the Gothic Lolita Bible once and for me this dream came true at the current issue (49)!

Yesterday, when I got home from a Steampunk meet-up, the new issue had arrived (thanks to the awesome service of me-shop!)
So I skimed trough the pages, searching the Wave Gotik Treffen Snaps, and there it was:

My Steampunk Lolita Outfit! Yay!
You can't image how happy I was, I really felt like dancing trough the flat ^_^

Okay, the "Bratwurst" sign in the background is kind of misplaced, but hey you can't everything^^
(It's kind of ironic that this outfit got rejected at the German Comm but ended up at the bible...)

If you are curious: this is my outfit round-down:

shoes: an tai na
tights: C&A
underskirt: Bodyline
dress: Orsay, tea-dyed by me
fur: vintage
shirt: Karstadt
glasses: vintage
pith helmet: ebay
goggles: painted by a friend, customized by me
clock bag: restyle.pl

Some friends of me got into the Snap, too but I'm not sure, if I'm allowed to post their pictures here.
There are really awesome outfits in the snap so I'm more then happy mine got there, too side by side with those grandiose creations! Chapeau to everybody!

~about the Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal~

Allright, university takes up all my time lately, so I need to report to you on two events before this year's Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig starts on Friday, I hope I can do that.

The week after Easter the Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal took place at the Openair Museum Kommern. It’s a historical funfair with attractions from the Wilhelminian era/Victorian Age until the 70ies.

ALL the sweets
The organization of the funfair had opened an application for people dressed in historical clothing from the Victorian/Wilhelminian era to get free entry so me and parts of the family de Loryva decided to take the chance and dress up.

Maybe you remember the video I posted about our first Jahrmarkt Anno Dazumal, two years ago. If not: you can find it here:
Outtake^^
Since we missed the one last year, I went twice this year xD: The first time on Easter Monday together with mum. It was freezing cold then and I was so glad I took Rüdiger (my fox fur) with me.
Easter Monday
The second time was together with the lolita clique the Sunday after Easter. Luching celebrated her birthday on Saturday so we slept over and went altogether the next day. Fortunately it was the first day this year with really good weather and warmer temperatures.
From right to left: Kitty, Baku, Luching, Harcole and me
Since I had just finished two Victorian bustles (some might have seen the brown one on my tumblr and/or dA) so I borrowed her the blue one.
Fortunately we all got the free entry and not only that: we also got food and drinks for one Euro less! I really like that event and I have to thank Dr. Faber once again for this opportunity!
I believe we were quite an impressive group and the other visitors took quite some pictures of us. Plus the museum is a perfect background.
Bob going "Manta Manta"
Now onto the funfair itself: As I already told you they had attractions dating back to the Victorian Era as well as a program filled with acrobats, magicians and even a beheading!
Here are some impressions:

Dr Faber showing the head after the beheading
Duo Unwucht
You can see their show here:
M. Gilbert and his flea Madame Fifine, who just jumped in the water ;)

I think my favourite was “Doktor Marrax und Pavel Söhne”, because they had that odd Victorian feeling to their show. Doktor Marrax is a magician who works with a special “magic powder” called Marrax-o-fax.
He and his assistant Pavel Söhne advertise their wonder powder with different tricks to convince the public of “buying” it. I had to think of Sweeney Todd and Mr. Pirellis Miracle Elixir. I think that would fit a Steampunk Convention perfectly!

The only thing I kind of missed was the walking act of a guy trying to sell “pictures” to the guests and was caught because of indecent behaviour by the Gendarmes and hanged shortly afterward. Not only because I really liked that idea of bringing life to the market, no this year we brought our own “pictures” to swap with him :D just to see his surprised face. Too bad he wasn’t there.

But nonetheless it was an awesome event, we had a lot of fun and I really look forward to next year’s edition.
If you want to see more pictures including more fun pictures and outtakes: visit my flickr album from here.

That was the first event I wanted to give a report on. The next one will be on the Aethercircus, the first German Steampunk Convention in Stade the weekend before last week. The Steampunk Expedition Camp set up tents there and I spend the last few weeks preparing stuff for it (like building a sun sail with my dad^^) beside visiting the Hexentanz festival the weekend before the Aethercircus*cough*

It’s the first “real” time we did the Expedition Camp after the test at Luxemburg SteampunkConvention Anno 1900. So stay tuned!

To get into the right Expedition mode: a short film Thomas, Vala and I made at Elf Fantasy Fair 2012 in Arcen ;)

~about what I did on ILD~

Another International Lolita Day passed without me thinking really about it^^
I had an editorial meeting for the Clockworker that day (the first time ever), so not much time for me to dress up. But since I had to do a project for Visual Anthropology which was to make a photo series containing a human and a process or some kind of transformation I did it with Lolita (and Steampunk since I had to leave for the editorial meet-up).

This is what I came up with:
Getting dressed in Casual Steampunk Lolita (tumblr / dA)

Outfit/layers:
undies: no comment
tights: C&A
bloomers: Bodyline
shirt: pimkie
petticoat: Classical Puppets (taobao)
skirt: Boguta (taobao)
vest: Takko
hat: H&M
boots: Deichmann
book bag: taobao (forgot the shop, I'll look if anybody is interested)
coat: Infanta (taobao)

I hope you like it and had a happy International Lolita Day!

~about Tumblr and a late Tardis Day~

Okay first of all: I decided to only post in English from now on, because I don't have the time to translate and I believe that most of you, my dear readers understand English.

Since I don't have much time besides university and work I don't visit that much events, but I do have some lfet to tell you about when I find a free minute or two to get myself to write. Until then I wanted to let you all know (if you don't know already) that I also have a Tumblr which name is *surprise surprise* Ruffles and Steam and that I'm a bit more active there. So if you are interested in Steampunk and Lolita related pictures and news, make sure you'll visit me there.

By the way: If you have some Steampunk and/or Lolita outfits feel free to submit them at my Tumblr!
I also have a second tumblr which is dedicated to Mori, Dolly and a bit of Cult Party Kei, the name is Lace and Layers (been so creative :-P).

Well last but not least a quick outfit snap from Nov. 23th which was the Doctor's 49th birthday, so I decided to wear something tardis and timetravel inspired.

Late Happy Tardis Day then!

~about the Steampunk and Gaslight Convention Anno 1900~

(Please scroll down for the English version)

________________________________________________________
So now the Steampunk Convention is over and I try to get all my thoughts in this post. The Event was AMAZING (I already wrote something in German for the Clockworker). Our Expedition camp worked out great (although it was a bit cold at night) and I met a lot of unbelievable nice people!
First of all I want to give you some general information about the “Anno 1900” as it’s called. It’s a Steampunk and Gaslight Convention that takes place in Fond-de-Gras in Luxembourg, which is an industrial museum with a working steam train. There are a lot of Steampunk themed sellers but it is not reserved for people dressed in Steampunk so a lot of families attend, too, especially since there is no entrance fee.

Now I try to get everything in line.
My boyfriend and me arrived on Friday, so we could set up the camp in time. Most of the sellers were already there and the rest arrived later that day. After setting up the tents, we made a barbeque together and talked until late night.
Since Fond-de-Gras is located in a valley it was quite clammy during the night and the sun needs at least an hour more to arrive at the tents. In addition to that the Luxembourg Autumn showed us how cold it can get at night so most of us were really happy about a fire in the morning were we made hot tea and coffee.

After breakfast we tidied up the camp and got ready for the visitor. For the first couple of hours I wore my Victorian Bathing suit because it is sooo damn comfy! I made it after a historical pattern from a book called “Das Buch der Wäsche”.
Later I changed into my dieselpunk inspired expedition outfit. Since we had our dog with us, Paulina also got a Steampunk outfit^^
The whole day was filled with a great program with artists, music, workshops and so on, so it couldn’t get boring at all!
In the evening we lit up the fire again and I started cooking a vegetable soup.
A lot of people joined our group around the fire and some when Nici and Momo started singing and two guys had their guitar and banjo/accordion with them so we had live music at the fire! It was amazing! I really want to thank you all for that spectacular evening! (And that everybody seemed to like the soup… it was hot at least xD)
The evening continued until late night again, Vala and me went to bed around 1.30 in the night, so most of us slept a bit longer on Sunday. Again we made fire for coffee and tea and the second and unfortunately the last day of the con started. The program was again really packed and had some wonderful French comedians.
I wore Steampunk Lolita for that day and Bianca from Atelier Tausendschön (see above, in the middle) made my hair-do which I just fell in love with! (I want to kidnap Bianca for making me hair-dos like that every time I want them^^)
Nici, Momo, Stefan, Philomena, Vala and myself decided to visit the celtic ruins in the afternoon to take some pictures there (since we were an expedition camp, we had to do an expedition right?)
When we returned it was already late so we started packing all our stuff. Some guys already left earlier so I had not the opportunity to say goodbye to them.
It was an amazing weekend and I can’t wait for next year to repeat it! I want to thank so many of you for making those two and a half days something special.
First of all Dilo and Frederic who organize the whole convention!
Herr Tischler for all the stuff he brought to Luxembourg and for letting us sleep in his tent!
All you guys of the expedition camp Darcy, Mias, Heinrich, Florian, Kitty, Vala, Klaus, Philomena, Nici, Momo, Stefan and all the others I forgot to mention (I’m really not good in remembering names).
And of course all the other Steampunks and visitors that made the event so vibrant!

Thank you all!

If you want to see more photos you can visit my flickr album or look through this thread at The Steampunker were we try to collect links.

RTL Luxembourg also made a quite good report about the Convention you can watch on youtube here. In the last minutes there’s also something about the short film “Airlords of Airia” which I will present to you in the following days ;)

Until then, have a nice weekend!
