~about Tumblr and a late Tardis Day~

Okay first of all: I decided to only post in English from now on, because I don't have the time to translate and I believe that most of you, my dear readers understand English.

Since I don't have much time besides university and work I don't visit that much events, but I do have some lfet to tell you about when I find a free minute or two to get myself to write. Until then I wanted to let you all know (if you don't know already) that I also have a Tumblr which name is *surprise surprise* Ruffles and Steam and that I'm a bit more active there. So if you are interested in Steampunk and Lolita related pictures and news, make sure you'll visit me there.

By the way: If you have some Steampunk and/or Lolita outfits feel free to submit them at my Tumblr!
I also have a second tumblr which is dedicated to Mori, Dolly and a bit of Cult Party Kei, the name is Lace and Layers (been so creative :-P).

~about some changes~

In letzter Zeit habe ich reichlich viel über Events berichtet, auf denen ich gewesen bin. Ich glaube, das war ein wenig viel, vor allem, weil ich kaum etwas anderes gepostet habe. In Zukunft möchte ich stattdessen lieber zu Beginn jeden Monats einen Eintrag über die anstehenden Termine machen (ist für Leser aus der Umgebung sicher auch interessant) und dann nur hin und wieder einen Outfit Post machen, da die viele der Events, die ich besuchen möchte nicht unbedingt etwas mit Lolita oder Steampunk zu tun haben. (Vor allem waren in der Umfrage zu Beginn des Jahres auch mehr Outfit Posts gewünscht^^)

Ich hoffe, dass ich wieder mehr informative Beiträge schreiben kann; im Moment arbeite ich an einem allgemeinen Artikel über Steampunk, einem Guide für Korsetts und Shoppingtipps für Lolita und Steampunk.

Ich weiß nicht, ob es euch aufgefallen ist, aber ich habe auch zwei neue Seiten hinzugefügt. Oben in der Leiste findet ihr jetzt zwei Informationsseiten über Lolita und über Steampunk. Diese sind besonders für Leser gedacht, die meinen Blog zum ersten Mal besuchen und sich erst mal über die Stile informieren wollen.

Dort habe ich auch einige thematische Links gesammelt.

Aktuell plane ich auch eine Galerie mit meinen liebsten und (meiner Meinung nach) besten Outfits zu machen. Ich werde sie zur besseren Übersicht nach Stilen sortieren, sodass man sie auch als Referenz nutzen kann, eine Art Portfolio^^

Da meine Kurse in der Uni bald vorbei sind, hoffe ich, dass ich diese ganzen Änderungen bald vornehmen kann, auch das Blogdesign braucht dringend eine Überholung! (Wenn ihr da wen kennt, sagt mir Bescheid ;) )

Lately I’ve been blogging a lot about events I’ve been to. I guess that was a little bit too much and it’s boring to read that. In the future I want to make an entry at the beginning of every month which events there will be and I’ll only post some outfit photos (since you voted for more outfit posts in my poll at the beginning of the year).

I hope I can make more informative posts, at the moment I’m writing something about Steampunk in general, a guide to corsets and some shopping tips for Steampunk and lolita stuff.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I also added two sites to this blog (see above); one about Lolita and one about Steampunk.

I want to inform my readers and especially those who visit my blog for the first time about these two styles. I also collected some links there. 

 

I’m also planning a gallery with my best/favorite outfits just as a reference or portfolio. I want to sort them by style, so it is easier to find a special outfit.

Since my courses at university are nearly over, I hope I can find time to make all these changes, the blog design also needs some changes! (If you know somebody who’s good in that please let me know ;) )

~about the new edition of "Noble Alice"~

Die neue Ausgabe von “Noble Alice – Lektüre zum Tee” ist draußen! Noble Alice ist ein Lolita Online Magazin, geschrieben von Lolitas, für Lolitas.

Die aktuelle Ausgabe ist die zweite und dieses Mal gibt es auch einen Artikel über Steampunk Lolita. Sayoko, die Autorin desselben, hat ein Interview mit Nachtfalter und mir über unsere Meinung zu diesem Substil geführt. Neben Fotos von uns beiden sind auch Bilder von Hildekitten, einer belgischen Steampunk Lolita enthalten. Ich liebe ihren Stil, deshalb musste ich das auch noch schnell erwähnen^^

Natürlich gibt es noch eine ganze Reihe anderer Artikel die alle sehr lesenswert sind, z.B. Shop Reviews, Event Berichte und Tutorials!

The new edition of “Noble Alice” is out now! It is a German Lolita Online Magazine written from Lolitas for Lolitas. 

This issue is the second one and this time an article about Steampunk Lolita is featured. Sayoko, the author of this article, did an interview with Nachtfalter and with me on our view of this sub-style. Beside photos of us two, also Hildekitten, a Belgian Steampunk Lolita is pictured. I really love her style, so this is why I tell you that^^

Of course there are also a lot of other articles in there, for example shop reviews, Event reports and tutorials.

So if you are interested you can download the magazine here for free. (It is in German only, but it also has a lot of pictures in it ;) ).

Als erstes möchte ich euch allen danken für 10.000 Klicks auf diesem Blog! Das ist WAHNSINN für mich!
Danke an meine Leser (106 sind's im Moment) und auch an alle, die nur mal so vorbeischauen!

Um diesen Blog noch lesenswerter zu gestalten, würde ich von euch gerne wissen, welche Art der Übersetzung euch am besten gefällt (das richtet sich jetzt hauptsächlich an die nicht-Deutschen Leser).

Ich habe einige Eintrage (besonders in letzter Zeit), wo ich erst den Beitrag in deutsch schreiben und dann alles (inklusive Bilder) kopiere und ins Englische übersetze. (Okay, um ehrlich zu sein, schreib ich immer zuerst das Englische, weil wenn ich zuerst Deutsch schreibe, bleibe ich beim "Wort für Wort" Übersetzen oft in der deutschen Formulierungund das möchte ich vermeiden^^)

Die andere Möglichkeit ist, Absatz für Absatz zu übersetzen und dabei alle Bilder eben nur einmal einzufügen.

Well, to make this blog worth reading I want to ask you (especially my non-German readers), which way of translation do you like most?


I have some entries where I first write everything in German and then copy everything (including the images) and translate it into English. (To be honest, I always write the English part first, because if I write German first, I always stick too much to the german way of writing while translating >_<')

Ja, richtig. Ich habe wirklich den Geburtstag meines Blogs verpennt >.< Heute ist er genau ein Jahr, einen Monat und einen Tag alt^^

~about a new header~

Ein weiteres Projekt, dass ich zurzeit plane ist ein neuer Header. Der alte war einfach von Blogger übernommen, der derzeitige ist nur eine Notlösung, also wird es Zeit, dass ich endlich etwas Ordentliches bekomme.

Eigentlich hatte ich darauf gehofft, dass mein Freund mir vielleicht einen basteln würde, aber der hat leider genauso wenig Zeit wie ich und seine eigenen Projekte am Laufen. Daher mussten meine mickrigen Photoshop Kenntnisse herhalten um etwas halbwegs Vernünftiges zu Basteln.

Ich hab‘s bis jetzt auf drei Ergebnisse gebracht. Alle eher provisorisch, aber durchaus besser, als der aktuelle.

Die Grafiken kommen alle von“ The Graphics Fairy“, einem fantastischen Blog, der tägliche alte Grafiken und Zeichnungen, sowie Hintergründe zur freien Verfügung stellt.

Jetzt brauche ich natürlich noch eure Hilfe bei der Entscheidung: Welchen der drei findet ihr am besten?

Another project I’m planning at the moment is a new blog header. I took the old one right away from blogger and the actual one is just a temporary solution, you see it’s time that I get a right one.

Actually I hoped my boyfriend could make one for me, because he’s a really talented artist, but he’s got his own projects running and had no time. Therefor I had to try it myself and use my crappy Photoshop skills to make a halfway good one.

I made it up to three designs, all together not that good and more provisional, but in all ways better than my actual header.

I took the graphics from “The Graphics Fairy”, a fantastic blog, which daily provides vintage graphics, designs and backgrounds for free use!

Now I need your help; which one do you like most of those three?

Willkommen in meinem frischgeschlüpften Blog!
Ich bin jetzt seit einem Jahr fleißige Blogleserin und seit meinem Beitrag für den Clockworker über die ElfFantasyFairs 2010 in Arcen hat mich das Fieber gepackt. Nach einigen Überlegungen und Recherchen u.a. mit dem sehr hilfreichen Beitrag von F*** Yeah Lolita über das starten eines Blogs, hatte ich heute auf der Arbeit einen Geistesblitz und der Name war geboren:

~Ruffles and Steam~

Hier möchte ich über meine beiden Passionen bloggen: Lolita und Steampunk. Da diese beiden Stile nun doch recht international sind, habe ich mir vorgenommen alle Postings sowohl in Englisch als auch in Deutsch zu schreiben.
Also seid gespannt, was in den nächsten Tagen folgen wird! (Und drückt mir die Daumen, dass ich das Bilinguale durchhalte!)

I've been a silent blog follower for a year now and since I wrote an article for the clockworker about the ElfFantasyFairs 2010 in Arcen I was infected with the will to write! After some careful considerations and researches, among others with the very helpful entry from F*** Yeah Lolita about starting a (lolita) blog, I had a flash of inspiration today during working and the name was born: 

~Ruffles and Steam~

Here I want to write about my two passions: Lolita and Steampunk! Since those two styles are quite international I resolved to write in English and German.
So stay curious what will follow in the next few days! (And cross your fingers that I will get along with the bilingual posting!)
